EMPLOYEE PROFILE

Meet Linda Burgess

There are a number of very important personal characteristics that are required to become a great Special Event Coordinator at Checkers: be very thorough, contain a tendency to over-analyze the situation at hand, be detail oriented and most importantly be a people person. Linda Burgess brings all that and more to her position at Checkers.

Linda’s responsibilities include planning events from beginning to end including weddings, baby showers, bar mitzvahs and any other special event a client may present. “I really like the variety of this job,” says Linda “every event is different. You meet many different people and see such a mixture in personal style and tradition.” Most importantly it’s Linda’s ability to analyze a project, figure out her customer’s needs, get all the details right including menu, staff, budgets and proposals and conclude it all during a very specific time frame that will create a memorable event for everyone involved.

Linda was originally interested in cake decorating. When a position at Checkers opened she jumped at the chance to become part of a large catering company. She began as a driver and also assisted with desert plating. Like many of the staff at Checkers, she opted to upgrade her job when an event coordinator position opened up and she has never looked back.

Linda spends her personal time with her husband and three children and enjoys camping, boating, snowboarding, dirt biking and other outdoor activates.
