BBQ Planning Tips
Planning any event is
easer when you use Checkers Catering and especially when
you are planning a company picnic or barbecue. Let us take
the pain out of planning, cooking, serving and cleaning
up for your BBQ or picnic and don’t ask your guests
to bring a thing! Here are a few planning tips to get your
mind working on the right track before your Spring or Summer
BBQ event.
• Food: It is true that tasty burgers,
hot dogs and ribs are the most requested items for BBQ entrées
but you may want to include a few vegetarian menu items
for your non-carnivore guests. Besides the traditional beans,
slaw, tater salad and meat be sure to select a few add on
items such as corn on the cob, garlic mashed potatoes or
grilled zucchini to add variety to your BBQ menu. Don’t
forget the dessert choices that can be as simple as watermelon
wedges or our specially baked pies.
• Easy as Pie: Checkers brings everything
you need to make your event work smooth and easy. Linens,
extra thick paper plates, utensils, napkins, beverage bins
and condiments are all included in your delivery. And best
of all, Checkers makes clean up a breeze, leaving you with
nothing but satisfaction.
• Location: A great location for
a company picnic is the company parking lot that offers
an open flat surface for tables, grills and food areas.
Our planners can also help with the selection of local parks
or public picnic areas to accommodate your guest list. Checkers
includes special citronella candles and food netting to
help with bug control.
• Sun Coverage: Checkers can provide
umbrella tables to help shield guests from overhead sun
or even larger tents for the undercover provisioning. We
also offer tents and canopies for covering the food areas
that contain food nettings for bug control. These colorful
canopies and umbrellas also add to the overall aesthetic
of your BBQ event.
• Grillers & Service Staff: You
don’t have to sacrifice the smell and ambiance that
outdoor cooking instills into the actual event. Checkers
can supply all the charcoal, grills, chefs and servers to
host your BBQ with ultimate style and professionalism.
• Entertainment: Talk to your Checkers
event planner about alternative entertainment for your BBQ
bash such as clowns, magicians, performers or any other
type of entertainment that will make your event a special
occasion.
• Plan in the Fun: Remember to plan
in the fun aspect of the BBQ event. Gingham table clothes
with scarf accents, hay bales, giant sunflowers, wheelbarrows
and other outdoor props are available to help accent your
BBQ theme.
• Temperature Sensitive: If your
BBQ is planned in the heat of summer be sure to plan in
extra ice and plenty of water or non-alcoholic beverages
for your guests.
